What Does An ESTA Visa Cost?

There is a nominal application fee of just $4 in order to apply for an ESTA visa. This fee is non-refundable whether the visa is approved or not.

The fee is payable by credit card only. This is due to the fact that the entire system and authorization process is electronic and online and therefore no other arrangements for payment can be made. If you do not have a credit card, you should apply for one or ask a family member or friend for the use of their credit card.

Upon approval, an additional cost of $10 will become due. This amount is for the issuance of the ESTA visa. The amount will automatically be charged to your credit card or the credit card that was used to pay the initial application fee.

The ESTA visa is valid for 2 years from the date of approval for multiple entries into the United States. This means that you will only need to reapply upon expiry of the visa and if you plan to visit the U.S. again. The application fee as well as additional charge will both be due for each application and issuance.

Family or group applications are accepted however the charge remains the same. In other words, it will cost $14 for each approved visa.

Keep in mind that you do not have to apply for ESTA should you already be in possession of another type of U.S. visa. Therefore you will not be required to pay the application or additional approval fee.

You will receive a confirmation of payment receipt via email for both charges. Although you do not have to print this receipt, it is recommended to keep an electronic copy as proof of payment in the event that any complications arise regarding the receipt of payment.
